Iran-Afghan actress Fereshteh Hosseini proud being Iranian

Iranian-Afghan actress, Fereshteh Hosseini emphasizes on her Iranian origin.

Iranian-Afghan actress, Fereshteh Hosseini has emphasized on her Iranian origin on the sideline of the 40th Fajr Film Festival (FFF).

The young actress, attending the Iranian film event as part of the cast of Monir Qeydi’s ‘Squad of Girls’, said that her feelings towards Iran and Afghanistan are exactly the same.

‘Squad of Girls’, a film on the Iraqi imposed war on Iran, prompted Hosseini to say that as she was born and raised in Iran, she really loves the country.

Although the actress was born to Afghan parents, she considers both Iran and Afghanistan as her hometown.

As she replied to the media, “my feelings for Iran and Afghanistan are the same, especially regarding the fact that I was born in Iran. I’ve read in comments that they said why should you play in a movie that is on Iran war? I think anyone can understand when you grow up somewhere; you will consider yourself a part of it. I know myself as an Iranian; because, I was raised here, went to school and all my friends are here”.

Hosseini admitted playing a role in a war movie, she has a better understanding of what is happening in Afghanistan.

“My opinion about war was different; however, playing in this movie, I felt the catastrophic situation of war… this film reminded me of the war in Afghanistan and I feel proud to be a small part of ‘Squad of Girls’. We tried to say that war is a terrible issue,” she added.

Hosseini has so far starred in a number of award-winning movies, including ‘Yalda, a Night for Forgiveness’, ‘Break Simultaneously Twenty Bones’ and ‘7.5’.
